The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has proposed promoting symbiotic cooperation between enterprises at eco-industrial parks.
In a draft circular guiding the building of eco-industrial parks, MPI said enterprises at these parks can exchange solid, gas, and liquid materials as input materials; use shared infrastructure provided by symbiotic partners or third-party units; and use shared services provided by symbiotic partners or third-party units.
The draft circular introduces measures to improve the efficient use of resources and clean production at eco-industrial parks, including reducing waste at the source of production, the circular use of waste as input materials, and production innovations such as renewing products and improving packaging and designs to reduce any impact on the environment.
It also guides the management of industrial parks and economic zones, focusing on investments in eco-industrial parks, the permitted emissions from different sectors in eco-industrial parks, the monitoring of input and output at facilities, and corporate social responsibility.
