The sixth annual national forum on the development of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises opened in Hanoi on January 15, highlighting the nation’s ambition to advance its position in the global digital economy.
The event, themed “Mastering digital technology, leading Vietnam’s digital transformation through Vietnamese digital technology enterprises,” underscores the Make in Vietnam initiative, a strategy launched in 2019 to inspire innovation, foster technological self-reliance, and elevate Vietnam’s standing in the global technology arena.
The event featured discussions on the development of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry and the introduction of the Digital Technology Industry Law, showcase of innovations through nearly 40 exhibition booths, and platforms for stakeholders to propose policies that foster innovation, encourage investment, and strengthen Vietnam’s digital technology ecosystem.
Addressing the forum, Party General Secretary To Lam called for more efforts to place Vietnam among the top three Southeast Asian countries for digital technology research and development by 2030, and form at least five major digital technology enterprises capable of competing globally.
He noted that in the context of globalization and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital technology has become a key driving force for socio-economic development.
