The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced national planning in both energy and mining for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050 on August 9.
They include master planning on energy for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050, planning on infrastructure for reserves and the supply of petroleum and oil and gas products, and planning on the exploration, exploitation, processing, and use of minerals.
All were approved by the Prime Minister in July.
The master planning in energy is aimed at ensuring national energy security, encouraging and creating conditions for all economic sectors to develop energy, applying the latest achievements in science and technology in energy, and using energy effectively and economically.
The planning on infrastructure for reserves and the supply of petroleum and oil and gas products aims to develop the infrastructure system for strategic reserves, production reserves, and commercial reserves as well as the transport, circulation, and distribution of products to meet economic, technical, and environmental standards.
The planning on the exploration, exploitation, processing, and use of minerals targets strictly managing, exploiting, and processing minerals and economically and effectively using minerals in association with demand for economic development, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and reaching carbon neutrality. It is also aimed at promoting investment and comprehensively and effectively developing the mineral exploitation and processing industry with advanced technology and modern equipment in line with global trends.
