The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has approved the trial implementation of the Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) system at the county’s two largest international airports, Noi Bai in Hanoi and Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City, in a bid to address delays.
The system is expected to help improve data and coordination between relevant agencies to provide clear, accurate, and transparent information, forecast different eventualities, and maximize airport operations, thus contributing to reducing delays and providing a better experience for travelers.
According to the CAAV, flights at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat often experience delays during busy periods due to many factors, including a lack of coordination between relevant agencies.
The A-CDM system is being piloted at Tan Son Nhat between March 27 to April 27 and at Noi Bai between March 26 and April 30.
The system has been widely applied in countries such as Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and China.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) suggested that the A-CDM system be applied at airports with a capacity of over 100,000 flights a year.
