A high-speed boat service linking Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao Island in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province will be launched on February 22.
The boast is capable of carrying 1,000 passengers.
The route has a total length of 230km, running between Hiep Phuoc Port in Ho Chi Minh City’s Nha Be district and Ben Dam Port in Con Dao district in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
Each trip takes around five hours.
The launch of the service is part of the southern city’s inland waterway development plan in the 2023-2025 period.
Travel between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao Island is currently only possible by air. The island is a popular tourist destination, with beautiful beaches and famous historical sites.
