North-central Nghe An province adjusted or granted new investment licenses to 16 FDI projects in the January-September period, with total registered capital of $1.12 billion, the Voice of Vietnam has reported.
The figure marks the first time the locality has attracted over $1 billion in a year.
The $1.12 billion in capital doubles the target the province set for all of 2023. With this result, it stands in eighth place among cities and provinces nationwide and leads the 14 cities and provinces in the north-central and central regions.
Head of the Southeast Economic Zone (Nghe An) Le Tien Tri said the province has seen breakthroughs in improving the local investment environment and creating the most favorable conditions for investors in the locality.
