North-central Nghe An province recorded GRDP growth of 7.75 per cent in the first quarter of 2023, ranking it 14th out of Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces, according to the provincial Statistics Office.
Growth in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sector was 4.64 per cent, industry and construction 7.03 per cent, and service 10.23 per cent.
The province posted export revenue of $520 million in the quarter.
Regarding investment attraction, it granted licenses to 32 new projects with total registered investment of over VND5.45 trillion ($228 million), with 12 existing projects adding VND330.5 billion ($13.8 million) in investment.
Nghe An earned VND1.46 trillion ($61 million) from tourism services in the period, equivalent to 306 per cent of the figure in the first quarter of last year.
