Central Nghe An province welcomed nearly 5.5 million tourists in the first six months of the year, up 11% compared to the same period last year.

Of which, there were 48,200 international visitors, a year-on-year rise of 48%.

Total tourism revenue was estimated at more than VND6.25 trillion ($245 million), soaring 41% year-on-year.

To develop the tourism sector, Nghe An has actively carried out many measures such as enhancing tourism promotion activities, boost digital transformation, diversify tourism products and increase cooperation with other localities as well as support local enterprises to recover and expand tourism services.

The province has also promoted investment in developing tourism infrastructure.
