Construction of nine projects building social housing and housing for workers at industrial parks kicked off in Vietnam during the first half of the year, figures from the Ministry of Construction show.
The projects will supply 18,768 apartments, meeting the housing needs of thousands of people.
They include six social housing projects in northern Hai Phong city, Hanoi, and the central highlands’ Lam Dong province, and three housing projects for industrial park workers in Hai Phong, south-central Binh Dinh province, and northern Bac Giang province.
Regarding plans to build at least 1 million social housing units for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks in the 2021-2030 period, localities reported that as of June 18 there were 41 projects completed, with 19,516 units. Construction of another 294 projects will continue, with a total of 288,499 units.
