Over 38,700 vehicles sold in March

The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) has reported its members’ total sales of 38,704 vehicles in March, marking a strong 101% increase from February and 122% growth compared to the same month last year.

Of the vehicles sold, there were 24,858 passenger cars, up 101% from February, 13,323 commercial units, surging 104%, and 523 special-purpose vehicles, jumping 45%.

The domestic assembly versus import breakdown revealed 15,693 locally assembled vehicles, up 70% month-over-month, and 23,011 completely built-up imported units, soaring 129%. 

Cumulative sales for the first quarter of 2026 reached 76,790 vehicles across VAMA member companies, a year-on-year rise of 31%. Passenger cars grew 24%, commercial vehicles 48%, and specialised vehicles 68%. While locally assembled cars rose 22%, imports jumped 40% compared to the previous year.
