Petition sent to PM to end seaport infrastructure fees in HCMC

A number of associations and businesses as well as the government’s Private Economic Development Research Board have sent an urgent petition to the Prime Minister asking that Ho Chi Minh City be directed to cease collecting fees for seaport infrastructure, which have been applied from April 1. According to many analysts, the fees imposed by city are contrary to the government’s policy on attracting investment and supporting businesses to recover after the pandemic, and have a range of consequences, affecting businesses and the economy and running counter to laws on fees and charges.
