Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has proposed that the US state of Nebraska enhance its economic, trade, and investment cooperation with Vietnam, particularly in the fields of agriculture, science and technology, innovation, high-technology, banking and finance, and climate change adaptation, the Government News reported.

Receiving Nebraskan Governor Jim Pillen in Hanoi on July 13, Prime Minister Chinh said both sides hold strengths and potential in these sectors.

Vietnam considers the US a key partner and hopes to boost the bilateral comprehensive partnership, he added.

Governor Pillen lauded Vietnam’s high growth rate and advantages such as young population and diligent workforce, and said Nebraska wants to expand relations with localities in Vietnam.

A delegation from Nebraska visited Vietnam last January to seek ways to expand cooperation in education and training and science and technology, he said.
