Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will attend the 15th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting of the New Champions, which will take place in Dalian city, Liaoning province of China, and have working sessions from June 24-27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.

The trip will be made at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, according to the ministry.

The event is one of the most important events in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting over 1,500 delegates, including leaders and representatives from countries, organizations and businesses.

The participation of the Vietnamese Government leader is expected to open up opportunities to boost the Vietnamese economy’s integration into the global economy as well as a chance for Vietnam to introduce its socio-economic achievements, particularly in attracting many global corporations, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Sao Mai.

This would be also an opportunity for Vietnam to enhance exchanges and promote cooperation with countries, partners and international organizations.

Particularly, the PM’s participation would help to enhance the cooperation and partnership with the WEF on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides for the 2023-2026 period, and foster the cooperation with businesses that are members of the WEF, especially in the fields of green transition, digital transformation, energy and science and technology.
