There remains much room for Vietnam and the US to boost cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, science and technology, energy transition, digital economy, and high technology and innovation, according to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Speaking at a reception for a delegation of officials and businesses from California on August 1, Prime Minister Chinh proposed that US businesses enhance their investment in Vietnam.
Vietnam considers the US to be one of its leading partners and hopes to continue promoting bilateral relations, he said.
He spoke highly of the fine relations between Vietnam and California, including Oakland, especially in economic, trade, and seaport cooperation.
California is one of Vietnam’s top locality partners, with nearly 100 businesses from the state investing in the country, he said.
During their visit, the delegation held working sessions with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Hanoi People’s Committee to discuss measures to boost economic and investment cooperation between localities in the two countries.
