The People's Committee of Quang Tri province in central Vietnam, in collaboration with Sun Group, held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 2 for three large-scale urban area projects with a total investment exceeding VND38 trillion (approximately $1.44 billion).
Nhat Le coastal mixed-use urban area, which covers over 276 ha, is located in Nam Trach commune and Dong Thuan ward.
Meanwhile, Dong Hoi central mixed-use urban area, which spans over 212 ha, is situated in Dong Thuan and Dong Hoi wards. This project is envisioned as a model ecological urban area, dedicating over 60 ha to green spaces, landscapes, and water features.
The urban area complex west of Le Ky River, on an area of over 291 ha, will be implemented in Dong Hoi ward and Quang Ninh commune. It aims to be a modern urban complex featuring high-end commerce, a theme park, and cultural-entertainment services integrated with water features.
The total area of these three projects is nearly 780 ha, making them the largest group of urban projects ever undertaken in Quang Tri.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Tran Phong, stated that for the period 2025 – 2030, the province has set a strategic development goal towards "green, sustainable, comprehensive, and integrated" growth, built on four pillars: Energy – Logistics – Tourism – Green Agriculture. "The province aims to become a moderately developed locality, a national energy and logistics hub, and a unique tourist destination by 2045," he said.
