The Sa Pa Town People’s Committee has announced the planning scheme for five subdivisions under the general planning on the construction of the Sa Pa National Tourism Area in northern Lao Cai province.
The subdivisions include an administrative center and northwestern cultural exchange urban area (Subdivision No. 1); urban and service areas in the Suoi Ho Valley (Subdivision No. 2); urban and service areas in Muong Hoa Valley (Subdivision No. 3); the Sau Chua eco-tourism and healthcare urban area (Subdivision No. 4); and the eco-tourism resort urban area in the town’s north (Subdivision No. 5).
Subdivision 1 covers a total area of 636 ha in Sa Pa, Phan Si Pang, and Ham Rong wards. The project is expected to restructure the space around Sa Pa’s central lake to develop community, tourism, urban, and residency services to turn it into a cultural exchange center.
On 616 ha, Subdivision 2 aims to build urban and tourism areas, offering commercial and financial and high-quality recreational and sporting services in the Suoi Ho Valley.
The 1,483-ha Subdivision 3 will develop urban and tourism service areas in Muong Hoa Valley, Cat Springs, and Violet Hill, ensuring the protection of natural and agricultural landscapes and forests.
Subdivisions 4 and 5, covering 1,574 ha and 1,778 ha, respectively, will develop eco-tourism services while protecting the natural environment.
