The Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment has said that the capital’s socio-economic situation saw positive results in the first nine months of 2022. Its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased 9.69 per cent year-on-year, while State budget revenue rose 13.7 per cent and the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) 8.6 per cent. Hanoi attracted $1.019 billion in FDI in the period, up 18 per cent year-on-year.
The Ministry of Construction is formulating national urban and rural area planning for the 2022-2030 period and vision to 2050, to build and develop a harmonious and balanced urban network between regions, urban areas, and the countryside. The development of high-rise buildings will be strictly controlled in inner cities, with the concentration of hospitals and universities in central urban areas reduced and industrial facilities outside of urban areas relocated.
According to the urban land use plan for the beach city of Nha Trang in south-central Khanh Hoa province, the area of agricultural land will decrease by 2030 as non-agricultural land increases sharply, of which commercial and service land will rise nearly four-fold. Of note, the land area for entertainment will expand nearly 14-fold.

The detailed planning for four resettlement areas in Hau Giang province serving the Mekong Delta’s Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway project is expected to be completed this month. The province has agreed to invest VND246 billion ($10.5 million) in the four resettlement areas. The Expressway stretches nearly 111 km with total investment of nearly VND29 trillion ($1.24 billion).
