Construction of Hanoi’s Metro Line No. 6 under consideration
The Hanoi People’s Committee has assigned the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB), relevant departments, and sectors to study the building of Metro Line No. 6, linking Noi Bai International Airport with Ngoc Hoi, on National Highway No. 1 in Thanh Tri district. Under the Hanoi Capital Construction General Planning to 2030 and vision to 2050, approved in Decision No. 1259/QD-TTg dated July 26, 2011, the urban railway network consists of eight lines with a total length of about 318 km.
Investment sought for two railway lines in south
The Thu Thiem - Long Thanh and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau railway lines in the southern region, with total investment of more than VND90 trillion ($3.8 billion), have been approved by the government and competent agencies for investment have been assigned. Both projects are included in the railway network plan for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050, and are also on the national list of projects calling for foreign investment.
