Within the framework of his visit to the US, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son and his delegation met with US partners such as the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and the Intel Corporation on September 21. The Ministry of Education and Training and ETS signed a third cooperation agreement, with ETS committing to promoting equality and the quality of education in Vietnam with testing and assessments. According to Mr. Son, Vietnam will send people to the US to attend training courses and ETS can send experts to Vietnam to help. At her meeting with the Vietnamese delegation, Ms. Sara Kemp, Vice President of the Intel Corporation, affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of the group and it highly values its relationship with the country. Mr. Son expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with businesses in information technology, especially Intel.
Human resources development is a major pillar of Vietnam’s e-commerce development plan. On September 7, for the first time, a network of e-commerce training institutions was established in the country to promote the development of high-quality human resources and meet rising needs. Only 30 per cent of existing human resources at e-commerce companies are formally trained.
Hanoi has approved support in elementary-level training of less than three months for eleven groups of workers in 78 occupations in the 2022-2025 period. Four groups receiving vocational training will receive support to cover training costs. The capital has set a target of training more than 21,000 people at the primary level for less than three months by the end of 2022, of which more than 9,000 will be trained in non-agricultural occupations and more than 12,000 in agricultural occupations.
