Only some 30 per cent of enterprises in Vietnam’s supporting industry have joined global supply chains and value chains, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. This shows that the link between local and foreign enterprises is yet to be fully developed.

Vietnam’s logistics costs currently account for 20-25 per cent of GDP; much higher than in other countries in the region. Identifying solutions to cut import and export costs is therefore an urgent requirement to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods.

Foreign enterprises pretty much dominated Vietnam’s cybersecurity market in the past but it is now quite balanced, with Vietnamese enterprises gaining in many respects. Local cybersecurity enterprises are working to raise their annual revenue by 35-45 per cent and secure a share of over 50 per cent in a market of $500 million by 2025.

Many enterprises are suffering as the pandemic lingers.

The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) has concluded that Vietnamese enterprises are not dumping precision steel pipes and that the Vietnamese Government is not subsidizing or interfering in the industry.
