Deputy Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee Mai Xuan Liem has approved tasks and budget estimates for the development of detailed planning to build Urban Area No. 17 at the northern province’s Nghi Son Economic Zone.

The urban area will offer housing services and act as a center for economic activities, tourism, culture, education, and social welfare services in the southern area of Nong Cong district.

Its boundary has been determined in accordance with the adjusted and expanded general planning for the Nghi Son Economic Zone by 2035 with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister.

Urban Area No. 17 is expected to cover over 1,130 ha and accommodate about 13,000 people.
