The Infrastructure Development Center in Ho Chi Minh City's Thu Duc city has proposed a transformative project to convert a 10-ha riverside area into a vibrant Creative Park.
The initiative aims to create a unique landmark and cultural hub for Thu Duc.
The proposed project will span over 11,000 sq.m along the Saigon River, offering stunning views of districts 1 and Binh Thanh.
The park, from the Thu Them Bridge to the Ba Son Bridge, will provide a range of amenities, including event spaces, a central park, running and cycling paths, a management building, and outdoor activity areas.
The project will involve significant landscaping work, including planting grass, trees, and other vegetation to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the park. Additionally, the existing canals and drainage systems will be renovated to improve water management.
By revitalizing this underutilized riverside area, Thu Duc city aims to create a popular destination for both local residents and visitors to Ho Chi Minh City, promoting recreation, entertainment, and cultural activities.
Currently, the land is covered in natural vegetation, primarily wild plants, water coconuts, and river reeds. The terrain is uneven, sloping towards the river, with low-lying areas prone to flooding. Canals and drainage systems are in need of renovation.
