Trade with Japan in deficit

According to the General Department of Customs, in the first seven months of 2022, Vietnam’s exports to Japan reached $13.4 billion, up 13.4 per cent year-on-year, while imports from the country totaled $13.9 billion, up 8.9 per cent. Vietnam therefore posted a trade deficit of $440 million with Japan.
