The National Assembly on October 25 approved the appointments of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra and Mr. Ho Quoc Dung as new Deputy Prime Ministers.

The 15th  National Assembly, at its 10th sitting,  adopted  resolutions on October 25, approving the appointments of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, aged 61, former Minister of Home Affairs, and Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, aged 59, former Secretary of the Gia Lai provincial Party Committee, as new Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

Ms. Tra is the first woman to become a Deputy Prime Minister in the history of  the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

With these approvals, the Vietnamese Government now has nine Deputy PMs.

On the same day, the Legislature also approved the appointments of three new ministers for the 2021-2026 term, namely Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tran Duc Thang, Minister of Agriculture and Environment, and Do Thanh Binh, Minister of Home Affairs.
