The Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee has approved the construction two social housing projects with total investment of over VND2.6 trillion ($108 million).

One is in Van Hoa commune in the provincial capital Lao Cai, which will cover an area of 16,608 sq m and have four blocks of 12 stories each, providing 745 apartments for some 1,863 people.

Investment is estimated at VND600 billion ($25 million), and bidding will be held to select the investor.

The other will be built in the provincial capital’s Bac Lenh ward on a total area of over 42,300 sq m, with four blocks of 25 stories each and 2,192 apartments.

Total investment is some VND2 trillion ($83 million).

Lao Cai province plans to get five social housing projects underway this year.
