The Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Day 2024 (AI4VN) opened in Hanoi on August 23 with the theme “Unlocking the Power of Generative AI”.

The event attracted a large number of experts, and leaders of technology and AI-developing businesses in Vietnam and other countries, along with many universities.

Representatives of foreign enterprises and domestic experts looked into AI development trends in the world and Vietnam, along with the country’s preparations, potential, opportunities, and challenges when developing and applying AI.

It included four-panel discussions about AI automation, the application of generative AI at small- and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam, data center, and AI cloud, as well as AI application to healthcare.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Tran Luu Quang said the Party and State of Vietnam have paid great attention and issued many policies and orientations for promoting AI research, development and application.

Much earlier,  a national strategy on AI research, development and application by 2030 with the goal of turning AI into an important technology sector of Vietnam had been approved under a Prime Ministerial decision.
