Trade between Vietnam and China through border gates continues to boom, especially as the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday is approaching.
The number of vehicles carrying goods through customs clearance at six border gates in northern Lang Son province has increased to nearly 500 a day in recent times, according to the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone.
Most products are fresh fruit being exported to China, including dragon fruit, bananas, and jackfruit.
Fruit exported to China via border gates in Lang Son province rose 30 per cent in January compared to January last year.
Many businesses said customs clearance procedures at border gates have been simplified, helping prevent trucks from being stuck at border gates for days on end, thus ensuring product quality, particularly fresh fruit.
