Vietnam exports nearly 790,000 tons of rice in Jan-Feb

Vietnam exported 430,000 tons of rice in February, earning $231 million, according to Director of the Center for Digital Transformation and Agricultural Statistics at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Nguyen Quoc Toan.

The figure brought the total volume of rice exported in the first two months of 2023 to 789,000 tons, with revenue of $417 million, down 18.8 per cent and 10.8 per cent, respectively, year-on-year.

The Philippines remained the largest importer of rice from Vietnam in January, with over 129,000 tons worth $64.55 million, accounting for 34.6 per cent of Vietnam’s total rice exports.

Vietnam targets exporting 6.5-7 million tons of rice in 2023.
