The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi's Foreign Agricultural Service in collaboration with MM Mega Market Vietnam launches the campaign "From Prosperous American Farms" in Hanoi on July 23 to promote American food and beverages and celebrate the prosperity of American agriculture.
The campaign showcases more than 80 American products, including cherries, apples, grapes, blueberries, peaches, nectarines, potatoes, raisins, prunes, dates, pork, beef, cheese, chicken, tofu, wine, canned meat, cookies, beans and lentils, sauces, nutritional drinks, beer, canned corn, almonds, walnuts, pistachios, jam, and more.
Addressing the launching ceremony, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper noted: “This year, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries—three decades of growing friendship and cooperation. Vietnam is an important export market for U.S. agricultural products, and we take great pride in the quality and safety of the food we provide to Vietnamese consumers. The premium quality, consistent supply, and sustainable values of U.S. food and beverages contribute significantly to strengthening the trade relationship between the United States and Vietnam. Last year, U.S. exports of consumer-oriented products to Vietnam reached a record-breaking $1.1 billion.”
The promotion event included 14 U.S. Department of Agriculture Cooperators, including the U.S. Meat Export Federation, U.S. Pork, U.S. Beef, USA Poultry and Egg Export Council, Raisin Administrative Committee, Potatoes USA, California Table Grape Commission, California Milk Advisory Board, California Prune Board, Washington Apple Commission, California Fresh Fruit Association, Northwest Cherry Growers, U.S. Soybean Export Council, and U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Managing Director of MM Mega Market Vietnam, emphasized the presence of the Ambassador is not only a significant moment for us, but also a testament to the U.S. Government’s recognition of the potential and importance of the Vietnamese market in the fields of agriculture and food.
"MM Mega Market Vietnam is consistently committed to fostering cooperation opportunities with American businesses," he added. "Today’s event highlights the strategic significance of agriculture and food as key pillars of bilateral collaboration, a sector in which we have built and maintained deep, long-standing partnerships with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, its numerous USDA Cooperators and our esteemed and trustful Vietnam’s importers, suppliers, and partners over the years."
Since 2016, Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery exports to the U.S. have more than doubled, from $6.26 billion to $13.68 billion in 2024.
In the first 4 months of 2025 alone, this figure reached $4.47 billion, an increase of more than 13 per cent over the same period of 2024. The U.S. is an important export market for Vietnamese agricultural products, accounting for about 20 per cent of the total export turnover of the whole industry.
Conversely, Vietnam imported about $2.1 billion worth of agricultural products from the U.S. in 2024, mainly cotton, corn, soybeans, milk and animal feed.
