General Secretary and President Lam expressed his confidence that, with its tradition of dynamism and innovation and with strong support from the central authorities, Da Nang will overcome challenges and realise its vision of becoming a major national growth pole and a modern, smart, and worth-living coastal city with strong regional competitiveness.
The ancient town in central Vietnam was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, praised for its remarkably well-preserved Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to 19th centuries.
Vietnam pledged to work with other ASEAN member states to implement initiatives and cooperation proposals that have been and will be promoted in the future.
It is envisioned to become a distinctive cultural, tourism, and specialized healthcare hub in Southeast Asia, and a national hub for sci-tech and quality, multidisciplinary education and training by 2030.
