A flood-based livelihood project implemented by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in the three Mekong Delta provinces of An Giang, Dong Thap, and Long An over the past three years has introduced many effective livelihood models and opened up new farming directions for the wet season, contributing to the diversification of Vietnam’s agriculture.

“Vietnam always stands by APEC member economies, with a vision of an open, peaceful, dynamic, and resilient Asia-Pacific, for the well-being of all people and future generations,” State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed at the 28th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting held online on November 12.

A Resolution on national land use planning for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050, approved by the National Assembly (NA) on November 13, requires amendments to the Land Law and related laws to ensure consistency in improving the efficiency of land management and use, with criteria to soon be issued allowing the conversion of rice and forest land use purposes.

In a recent report, the World Bank (WB) pointed out that many of Vietnam’s socio-economic indicators are showing signs of a positive recovery. It believes the country’s economy has improved and will continue to grow.

Addressing the National Assembly on November 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that, in the time to come, the government plans to mobilize all resources to promote socio-economic recovery and development together with prioritizing budget allocations to support people affected by Covid-19.

Vietnam is boosting its plan to “reopen the skies” and resume international flights, with a capacity of 500,000 tourists, according to Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam Deputy Head Vo Huy Cuong. There have already been two flights to Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa province and others are expected to be conducted in November.
