Along with the restoration of production, the recovery and breakthrough of Vietnam’s 100-million-strong domestic consumer market from now to the end of the year is expected to boost production and business activities and drive economic growth.

A list of 147 of the best cities in the world to combine work and play has been released by Holidu, a British website specializing in international tourism. Three Vietnamese cities appear: Hanoi, ranked 18th, Ho Chi Minh City 21st, and Hoi An 32nd.

On November 2, in a speech at the announcement of a commitment to reduce global methane emissions at COP26, Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh called on wealthy countries to support developing countries in gas finance. He also proposed shortening the gap between emissions reduction commitments and the development levels between countries to achieve carbon neutrality.

AstraZeneca signed two agreements on November 2 to invest $90 million in Vietnam to support the development of biopharmaceutical production and Covid-19 prevention. Witnessing the signing ceremony while in the UK to attend COP26 and pay a working visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed a wish that AstraZeneca would also support Vietnam in human resources training, management technology, and response to other diseases.

At a Dialogue Conference with Standard Chartered Bank and more than 300 senior leaders from businesses and foreign investors in Glasgow on November 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh spoke of Vietnam’s investment prospects and witnessed the signing of MoUs worth $8.5 billion in total by three Vietnamese enterprises to support sustainable development projects.

While attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) on November 1, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the President of the European Commission Ursula Von Der Leyen. In addition to asking the EU to encourage member countries to complete the ratification of the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EUVIPA), he also asked that the EU consider quickly removing its “yellow card” against Vietnam on illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) and provide technical assistance and solutions.
