On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue has signed a Resolution on supporting businesses and individuals affected by the pandemic. From October 19, those affected will be exempted from or able to access reductions on a number of taxes, including corporate income tax, personal income tax, and value-added tax.

Under the Ministry of Finance (MoF)’s public administration reform plan for the 2021-2025 period, it will strengthen the application of information technology and also work to improve the level of customer satisfaction over the handling of administrative procedures to at least 90 per cent.

With a desire to learn from successful financial centers in the world, Ho Chi Minh City plans to study the Shanghai international financial center with Chinese experts. The two cities have cooperated closely since 1994.

Northern Quang Ninh province aims to welcome 2 million tourists in the fourth quarter of this year. More than 50 programs and events have been launched to stimulate tourism demand, with revenue of about VND1.3-1.4 trillion ($57.4-62.5 million) expected. Some resorts and cruises on Ha Long Bay have gradually welcomed guests once again. Visitors are required to have been fully vaccinated and must make a medical declaration.

At a ceremony on October 19 receiving a batch of 100,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine and 100,000 rapid test kits from Hungary, H.E Öry Csaba, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam, met with leaders from the Ministry of Health about cooperation in the research and development of vaccines and biologicals as well as the possibility of second phase clinical trials with the COVIVAC vaccine researched and developed by IVAC.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is preparing a draft Decree detailing a number of articles in the Law on Environmental Protection, to identify general policies with a long-term vision in line with the country’s integration and development towards the goal of sustainable environmental protection.
