Vietnam welcomed 10 million international tourists in the first ten months of this year, a 4.2-fold increase year-on-year, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
In October alone, 1.11 million foreign tourists visited Vietnam, the fourth consecutive month in which the number of international visitors exceeded 1 million.
The country also catered to 98.7 million domestic tourists during the ten-month period.
Total revenue from tourism was estimated at VND582.6 trillion ($24.2 billion), up 15 per cent year-on-year.
South Korea remained the largest tourism source market, with over 2.9 million visitors. It was followed by China, with 1.3 million, and the US with 667,000.
