In the first eight months, the figure stood at 235.82 billion kWh, an increase of 9.3% from the same period in 2025.
Coal-fired power accounted for the largest share at 119.24 billion kWh, or 50.6%, followed by hydropower with 58.62 billion kWh, or 24.9%. Regarding investment and construction, EVN continued to direct and accelerate implementation of projects under its 2026 plan.
At the Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, Unit 1 has completed trial operation at its designed capacity and is undergoing adjustment of auxiliary equipment. Unit 2 has completed steam blowing and is being mechanically aligned, with grid synchronisation expected in September 2026.
Hydropower projects, including the Tri An expansion and Bac Ai pumped-storage projects, are progressing as scheduled. Investment policies for the expanded Tuyen Quang, Se San 3 and Se San 4 hydropower projects are under consideration.
During the eight-month period, EVN and its affiliates started construction on 118 projects and energised 116 110–500kV grid projects during the first eight months.
