Vietnam earned $66.87 billion from exports of computers, electronic products, and components in the first eight months of 2025, up 43.1% year-on-year, according to Vietnam Customs.
This export group accounted for 22% of the country’s total export turnover in the 8-month period. In August alone, its export value reached $10.15 billion.
The United States remained the largest market, purchasing $26.1 billion worth of Vietnamese electronics, a sharp increase of 67.7%. China ranked second with $11.02 billion, up 38.6%.
On the import side, Vietnam spent $14.13 billion on computers, electronic products, and components in August, 2.1% higher than July. For the January–August period, imports totaled nearly $96 billion, a year-on-year rise of 38.2%, accounting for almost 32% of the country's total import value in the period.
Meanwhile, phones and components showed only modest growth. Exports in this group were valued at $5.7 billion in August and $38.2 billion in the first eight months, up just 2.4%. Imports amounted to nearly $7 billion, representing an 18.8% increase.
