Vietnam’s total retail sales of goods and consumer services reached more than VND5.77 quadrillion ($219 billion) in the first ten months of 2025, marking a 9.3% year-on-year increase, according to the National Statistics Office.
Retail sales of goods accounted for the bulk of the total, reaching VND4.4 quadrillion, equivalent to 76.2% of overall revenue and up 8% from the same period last year.
Key product groups all experienced stable growth, including food and beverages up 10%, clothing up 8.6%, household goods and equipment up 7.1%, and cultural and educational items up 6.9%.
Retail activity continued to perform strongly across major economic centers. Da Nang reported the highest increase at 9.4%, followed by Can Tho (8.7%), Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong (both 8.3%), and Hanoi (8%).
In October alone, total retail sales of goods and consumer services were estimated at VND598.4 trillion ($23 billion), up 7.2% from the same month last year.
