Vietnam’s fruit exports stood at $510 million in January, up 24.9 per cent against December and 112.1 per cent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).
Its annual fruit exports are tipped to exceed $6.5 billion as many types have conquered giant markets around the world, the Government News has reported.
Meanwhile, China, which is Vietnam’s largest fruit export market, still sees high demand, and Vietnam has been negotiating to officially export other fruit to its northern neighbor.
Vietnam has also boosted exports to key markets such as the US, the EU, Australia, and South Korea.
Fruit and vegetable export turnover hit an estimated $3.4 billion last year, up 66 per cent compared to 2022. Durian posted the highest export value, with $2.2 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 430.1 per cent.
