The Ca Mau Investment Renewable Power JSC began construction of the third phase of the Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant, located in southernmost Ca Mau Province, on October 14.
The new phase has a total capacity of 25 megawatts (MW) and will include four offshore turbines rated at 6.25 MW each, along with a power metering system, on-site electricity facilities, and supporting infrastructure such as an operations building, warehouse, and inland waterway port.
Once operational in the fourth quarter of 2026, the project is expected to supply approximately 61.5 million kWh of electricity to the national grid each year.
The first and second phases of the Tan Thuan Wind Power Plant, with a combined capacity of 75 MW, began construction in December 2019 with an investment of over VND3.8 trillion ($144 million). These earlier phases currently contribute around 225 million kWh annually to the national power network.
