The Bien Hoa City People’s Committee in southern Dong Nai province has approved the detailed planning of a new resettlement area for the construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway.

The resettlement area will cover 31.5 ha in Tam Phuoc ward and have total investment capital of more than VND717 billion ($29.8 million).

It will have an estimated population of 6,000-6,500.

Construction of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway requires more than 289 ha of land and will affect 3,436 households.

Four resettlement areas are to be built in Bien Hoa and Long Thanh district for affected households.

Construction got underway last year of two resettlement areas in Long Duc and Long Phuoc communes.
