The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE) plans to complete the draft Land Law (amended) based on people’s opinions before March 27.
Under a Decision signed recently by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Minh Ngan, a draft report on the results of seeking people’s opinions on the draft law will be submitted to the government before April 1 and then submitted to the National Assembly Standing Committee before April 5 for comment.
The draft is scheduled to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration before April 25.
At a recent meeting with relevant ministries and sectors on collecting people’s opinions on the draft Land Law (amended), Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said the work must be done with the right stakeholders and recommendations for policy changes must be practical.
The draft must also be feasible and all conditions on human resources and other resources must be ensured, he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that there are differences in land policies in the central highlands, the Red River Delta, the Mekong Delta, and northern mountainous areas. The drafting group and the appraisal agency therefore need to directly hear from localities, focusing on key issues and identifying specific and appropriate policies for local governments in each region and each locality.
