An exhibition celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) opened on August 28 at the newly-built Exposition Centre of Vietnam in Dong Anh, Hanoi.
Held under the theme “80-Year Journey of Independence – Freedom – Happiness,” the event offers the public a chance to reflect on the nation’s arduous yet glorious history while affirming Vietnam’s growing position in the international arena.
The opening ceremony saw the attendance of Party General Secretary To Lam; former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; and former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; among many other high-ranking officials.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the exhibition is a landmark event, honoring Vietnam’s historic achievements, fostering patriotism and national pride, and highlighting the country’s strength and position on its path of Doi moi (renewal), international integration, and development.
He noted that this is the largest exhibition ever organized, with the participation of 28 ministries and central agencies, 34 provinces and centrally-run cities, and more than 110 enterprises and corporations, featuring over 230 booths. On display are documents, artifacts, equipment, films, and reports showcasing achievements across nearly 180 sectors under the Party’s leadership over the past eight decades.
Spanning nearly 260,000 square meters, the exhibition highlights Vietnam’s cultural heritage, industrious spirit, and dynamic business community. It presents development milestones in key fields including industry, technology, trade and investment, agriculture, security and defense, foreign affairs, health, education, culture, sports, and tourism.
The exhibition will run through September 5.
