The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) has announced eight technology maps for the information and communications sector, becoming the first ministry to research and develop such maps for all areas of management.
The maps were released after three months of research and development and are based on approved strategies, special reports on global trends in technology research and application, documents from prestigious organizations in the world, and consultancy from domestic experts.
They feature technologies used in eight areas: telecommunications, post, journalism, publication, digital government, information safety, digital university, and digital technology, according to Director of the MoIC’s Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Khac Linh.
Each map includes a description and assessment of the technology and infographics with brief information on the impact of technologies on the area, with other information on the development level of technologies, their level if impact, and expectations for the technologies.
The maps are expected to be a tool for State management agencies in management work, making strategies, and building short, medium, and long-term implementation plans in line with the development of technology.
They will also support units and businesses in making decisions about the application and deployment of new technologies.
