The northern port city of Hai Phong plans to build nearly 33,500 social housing units in the 2021-2030 period for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks (IPs), according to local authorities.
It forms part of the city’s action plan to implement the government’s master plan on building at least 1 million social housing units for low income earners and workers at IPs in 2021-2030.
The housing will have reasonable prices but also high quality, according to authorities.
The Department of Construction was assigned to implement the plan, with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to prepare the land.
Social housing development will be linked with urban development and production and service areas to generate employment.
