Hanoi approves two Red River bridges worth $1.4 bln

The Hanoi People's Council has approved a resolution endorsing the investment policy for projects to build major bridges across the Red River.

Under the resolution, Tu Lien Bridge and approaching roads at both ends, as well as Tran Hung Dao Bridge will be built.

Tu Lien Bridge will span from the intersection with Nghi Tam road in Tay Ho district to the intersection with Truong Sa road, with a total length of approximately 5.15 km, including approaching roads.

The preliminary total investment for the project is estimated at VND20.171 trillion (nearly $790 million), sourced from the city budget. The project implementation locations include Tay Ho, Long Bien, and Dong Anh districts, with a schedule for completion between 2025 and 2027.

The primary objective of Tu Lien Bridge is to reduce the load on Chuong Duong, Long Bien, Nhat Tan, Thang Long, and Vinh Tuy bridges.

Meanwhile, the projected Tran Hung Dao Bridge  has a total length of approximately 5.6 km, including approaching roads. The starting point is at the Tran Hung Dao-Tran Thanh Tong intersection in Hoan Kiem district, and the ending point connects with Vu Duc Than street in Long Bien district.

The preliminary total investment for the Tran Hung Dao Bridge project is more than VND15.967 trillion (nearly $625 million), also sourced from the city budget.

The project implementation locations include Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, and Long Bien districts, with a schedule for completion between 2025 and 2027.
