Hanoi creates taskforce to tackle difficulties for businesses and investors

Song Hoàng -

Chairman of the capital’s People’s Committee will head the taskforce.

Hanoi has established a special taskforce to help enterprises and investors untie the difficulties facing them in production and business.

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh will head the taskforce, while his deputies will be Deputy Chairmen of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ha Minh Hai and Nguyen Manh Quyen. Members will be representatives from the Departments of Planning and Investment, Finance, and Construction, and from the banking and taxation sectors.

The taskforce will focus on resolving problems facing enterprises and investors in production and business and in project implementation, including ODA, FDI and PPP projects. When problems are beyond its authority, it will report to higher authorities for settlement.

It will also study streamlining and simplifying procedures for project investment, carry out mechanisms and policies to support businesses in the new era, and deal with any violations.

In early July the capital approved a resolution on socio-economic development, in which it maintained its annual growth target of 7 per cent. To do so, local GRDP must come in at some 7.54 per cent and 8.23 per cent, respectively, in the third and fourth quarters.

To reach its targets, Hanoi must accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, particularly for key projects, implement programs for economic recovery and development, ensure capital resources for the local economy, ensure stable and safe power supply, and amend and supplement regulations relating to land withdrawal, allocation, and leasing.
