Ho Chi Minh City has adopted a host of measures to boost the application of information technology to develop smart tourism and attract more visitors, according to municipal authorities.

The city has introduced technologies integrated with tourism service information and provided smart tourism apps on mobile devices with digital tourism maps and virtual tours for visitors.

It will continue to develop information technology solutions, such as building a database on tourism and visitors, upgrading the QR code system to introduce destinations, and build a smart tourism operations center.

The city targets welcoming 5 million foreign visitors this year and 35 million domestic tourists. Total revenue from tourism is expected to reach VND160 trillion ($6.75 billion).
