A ground-breaking ceremony for construction of the Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital Project, one of the province’s key healthcare initiatives for the 2021–2030 period, was officially held on August 19.
Located in Tran Lam ward, the hospital is designed as a modern facility with a capacity of 1,200 beds, and an expectation for future expansion to 1,500 beds.
With a total investment capital of over VND2.73 trillion or $104 million (excluding medical equipment), the project spans on 12 hectares, aiming to establish a special-grade general hospital, helping to ease pressure on the current healthcare system and meet the province’s healthcare network development goals through 2030, with a vision to 2050.
The project will be implemented in two phases.
Phase 1 involves constructing the outpatient clinic building and technical infrastructure, with an investment of over VND380 billion (nearly $14.5 million), scheduled for 2025–2026.
Phase 2 that will complete the full 1,200-bed hospital, with an investment of over VD2.35 trillion ($89.4 million), will be launched immediately afterwards in order to accelerate progress, in line with directives from the Prime Minister.
The facility is one of 250 projects simultaneously launched or ínaugurated on August 19 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).
