The first bidding package of over VND5.3 trillion ($227.47 million) for a 20-km route connecting Nghia Lo town in Yen Bai province with the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Highway was deployed on June 23. This is an important project within the northern mountainous transport connection project invested in by the Ministry of Transport with ODA loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and non-refundable aid from the Australian Government and domestic counterpart funding.
The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has proposed a project to the Ministry of Transport on upgrading three national highways in the Mekong Delta: National Highway No. 53, National Highway No. 62 and National Highway No. 91B, with a total investment of nearly VND7.2 trillion (nearly $310 million), of which World Bank (WB) loans will total nearly VND5.4 trillion (nearly $233 million). Project implementation is four years, from 2024 to 2027.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority on June 22 handed over investment certificates issued by the Hai Phong City People’s Committee to six projects with total investment of over $400 million. The projects include the construction and operation of the Tien Thanh Industrial Park in Tien Lang district on 410 ha and with investment of more than VND4.5 trillion ($193.57 million).
Southern Tay Ninh province will allocate VND1.5 trillion ($64.4 million) for site clearance on the 53.5-km Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project. With a pre-feasibility study completed, the project is now awaiting appraisal and approval in July before construction begins.
