Japan's semiconductor producer Rorze to invest additional $330mln in Vietnam

Japan’s Rorze Corporation, specializing in semiconductor and automation production, plans to invest additional $330 million in its Vietnam subsidiary Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd. (RRC) in theJapan-Hai Phong Industrial Park (northern Hai Phong port city), with a new plant to be built on an area of 23.8 ha, according to an announcement released by the Japanese corporation on October 11.

Under its plan, construction of the new plant (first phase) is scheduled to start in 2026 and complete in 2027. More investments will be gradually made until 2032.

The move is made to respond to the increasing demand of semiconductor market and the changes in technological innovation, according to the statement released by the corporation.

“We have decided to make capital investments at RRC. Through this investment, we aim to further strengthen our competitiveness and to achieve sustainable growth. Specifically, we will double production capacity to meet the rising demand for existing products and to accelerate market launch by establishing the mass production system of newly developed products,” the statement said.

“At the same time, we will promote the automation of the production line and improve production efficiency. As a result, we will build a production system that can respond quickly and flexibly to changes in the market environment and strengthen the supply of products that meet the needs of our customers,” it added.
